CloudFlare setup

Converting the site to test using cloudlflare free program. I am mainly researching what would be needed for clients.

Since this a wordpress document I found this blog to help on the details https://themeisle.com/blog/cloudflare-for-wordpress-tutorial/#:~:text=How%20to%20set%20up%20Cloudflare%20for%20WordPress%201,5.%20Verify%20that%20your%20connection%20is%20complete%20

After setting up your cloudflare account – convert your DNS from your current provider to Cloudflare. Cloudflare will query your current dns zone to build a replacement. Review the results and decide on what items you want proxy and which you don’t. To be honest if not sure don’t proxy it. Create the Cloudflare zone records. In your current Domain registrar change the name servers to the CloudFlare supplied name servers. NOTE: get an export of your current DNS zones before in case things go south.

Has a couple of configuration completion steps Enforced the HTTPS redirects and automatic rewrites so all traffic uses https. Took the optimization defaults.

Wait for completion – remember patience is a virtue. Took a while before the SSL certificate was set up and I didn’t get the ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap error. Afterwards for wordpress I had to go to the SSL tab and change the option from flexible to full. That resolved a redirect loop in wp-admin.
